Alicia Vikander on her Oscars moment with Michael Fassbender: ‘It felt right’

Alicia Vikander has opened up about attending this year’s Oscars with her beau Michael Fassbender.

The notoriously private couple, who have been seeing each other since 2014, finally confirmed their romance in front of the cameras at the 88th Academy Awards back in February, as she kissed Michael before collecting her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

In a new interview with British Vogue, Alicia was asked how important it was to have Michael by her side at the ceremony, and the actress surprisingly opened up about their romance.

“That wasn’t even a question,” she told the magazine.

“It felt like the right thing. We wanted to sit next to each other, simple as that.

“We wouldn’t have gone there and not sat together.”

The brunette beauty picked up the prestigious award for her role in The Danish Girl, while Michael was nominated for Best Actor for his role as Steve Jobs, but he unfortunately lost out to Leonardo di Caprio.

Alicia and Michael first met on set of The Light Between Oceans, a film that tells the story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife, who live off the coast of Western Australia, and raise a baby they rescue from an adrift rowboat.
