Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday Night.
The love story singer debuted one of her new songs of the album Reputation called ‘New Years Day’, however, she changed the lyrics for this special performance.
Jimmy Fallon cancelled all his shows the previous week after his mother Gloria Fallon suddenly passed away.
The host was emotional during his first show back, and shared a story about his mother squeezing his hand three times to signify, ‘I love you’, when he was a child.
Jimmy Fallon was brought to tears when the singer changed the lyrics of the song  to say, “Squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi.”
The producer of the show Mike Cenzo took to Twitter to show his gratitude:
First, a quick word about Taylor Swift. She was not scheduled to do our show today. But we wanted something special for this first show back, so we asked her on a complete whim, since she had been in town doing SNL. She said yes with zero hesitation.

The producer then tweeted:
“That hug between Jimmy and Taylor after the song was 100% real emotion. Whatever you think of Taylor, she did something beautiful for Jimmy and our show today, and we’re forever grateful.”
Jimmy paid tribute to his mother Gloria Fallon just before the performance.
