The director of the Academy Awards, Glenn Weiss, proposed to his girlfriend at the Emmy’s last night.
The 57-year-old took to the stage to propose to his girlfriend, Jan Svendsen, while accepting the award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special.
The director gave an emotional speech regarding his mother who passed away recently and said that she always told him to never let go of his sunshine.
Glenn then told his girlfriend that she was his sunshine and said “You wonder why I don’t call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife.”
The crowd erupted as Jan joined the director on stage and he gave her a gorgeous engagement ring that belonged to his mother.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the couple walked off-stage with their arms wrapped around each other.
