Viewers SLAM GMB’s ‘tasteless’ interview with Mariah Carey about Las Vegas shooting

Piers Morgan broke the news to her live on air during their interview

Good Morning Britain viewers have slammed the show, after their “tasteless” interview with Mariah Carey this morning.

The singer was due to chat to presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about her Christmas tour, and was seen sitting next to a huge Christmas tree when she was put on the spot about the devastating shootings that took place in Las Vegas just a few hours ago.

The tragic news broke just minutes before Mariah’s interview, and the ITV breakfast show aired live videos from people caught up in the shooting.

According to The Sun, Mariah, who finished her Las Vegas residency earlier this year, was completely unaware of the shooting taking place when Piers asked for her reaction.

“This is horrible. I pray for the victims,” Mariah replied, looking shocked.

Piers then went on to show her live scenes of the horrifying situation unfolding as she watched in silence.

“That’s awful. I pray for the victims. I hope all this can stop,” she said.

As she was put on the spot, Mariah continued, “This type of thing happening anyway is a huge tragedy. I hope we have an end to this as soon as possible.”

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to vent their frustration, and slammed the interview as “tasteless” and “unfair”.

“So tasteless breaking the Vegas news to Mariah Carey live on TV, shame on you,” one person wrote.

Another tweeted, “Someone should have spoken to Mariah off air letting her know what was going on then postponed, instead of throwing that at her.”

It’s not yet known how many people have been killed or injured after a shooter targeted crowds at the Route 91 country music festival at the Mandalay Bay Resort Casino.

Famous poker player and actor Dan Bilzerian posted a video of him running from the shooter, and said that he saw a girl get “shot in the f***ing head”.
