The meaning behind Kim and Kanye’s baby name has been revealed

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West revealed to the world last night that they were naming their fourth child Psalm.

The word, meaning holy song or verse, is an unusual choice, but a source told People that is is reflective of Kim and Kanye’s spiritual journey.

Psalm is not the first child to Kimye with a religious name, 3-year-old Saint West’s moniker is also a reverent term.

Saint received his name after Kim declared him to be a “blessing” following her exceptionally difficult pregnancy.

The source claims that while Psalm and Saint call to a spiritual path, North and Chicago point the direction of the path with their names.

Chicago, to Kanye’s hometown and most sacred place, and North to the direction of a higher power.

Kris Jenner previously told The View shortly after North was born that North’s name was spiritual.

“The way [Kim] explained it to me was that North means highest power, and she says that North is their highest point together and I thought that was really sweet,” she said back in 2013.

Kim and Kanye have made no secret of their religious beliefs, sharing weekly snippets of the sermons they attend every Sunday.
