The songstress was also joined on stage by Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who headlined the event.

Sharing a video of Taylor’s performance on Twitter, Jesse wrote: “I’m so happy I don’t have to keep this secret any longer. Look who came to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Stonewall at the Stonewall Inn.”

“@taylorswift13, you are a gem. Thank you for everything you do for the LGBTQ community. We ❤️ you! ????.”

The news comes after Taylor released her new single ‘You Need To Calm Down’, which takes aim at homophobia.

In the new song, which is from her upcoming album Lover, she sings “shade never made anybody less gay”.
