Cynthia Nixon is running for governor of New York.
The former SATC actress announced the news via Twitter over the weekend.
Cynthia shared a campaign video along with her tweet in which she said, “New York is where I was raised, and where I’m raising my kids.
“I’m a proud public school graduate. And a prouder public school parent. I was given chances I just don’t see for New York’s kids today.”
The video shows the former actress going about her New York life with wife, Christine, and son Charlie.

Cynthia is best known from Sex and the City, in which she played Miranda.
Although a third film was anticipated by fans, the production could not go ahead without Kim Cattrall who made it quite clear not to long ago that she would not be participating in the third film.
