Selma Blair has fiercely denied that her pal Cameron Diaz has retired from acting, after she accidentally let slip that the actress is done with Hollywood.

In a recent interview, Cameron’s friend and former The Sweetest Thing co-star said, “Cameron has said she is done with the film industry and has no plans to return the big screen.”

However, Selma has since backtracked on her comments after the news hit headlines all over the world yesterday.

Taking to Twitter, Selma wrote, “Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview. CAMERON DIAZ is NOT retiring from ANYTHING. And for more breaking news: I am NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson.”

She also took to Instagram to write, “I have had some inquiries related to an interview I did. In response to if the girls were gonna do a #sweetesthing part deux.

“I jokingly said #camerondiaz was retired. But I did brag about having lunch with her. Who wouldn’t?”

Cameron hasn’t starred in a film since 2014, in which she played character Miss Hannigan in Annie.

Selma’s comments came after it was widely reported that Cameron wanted to focus on settling down and starting a family with her husband Benji Madden, who was in the band Good Charlotte alongside brother Joel Madden, who is married to Nicole Richie.
