Selena Gomez is “not surprised” that Justin Bieber proposed to Hailey Baldwin.
Over the weekend, the 24-year-old singer proposed to the 21-year-old model while on vacation in the Bahamas.Â
While fans questioned whether the rumours were true, Justin confirmed the news himself last night by posting a touching tribute to Hailey on Instagram.
Just hours after Justin and Hailey’s engagement news broke, the Sorry singer’s ex Selena was spotted looking happier than ever on a boat with her pals in New York City.
A source has since told E! News, “Selena was surprised an engagement happened this quickly but not surprised Justin would do something like this knowing who he is.”
“At the end of the day though she doesn’t really care. Selena is totally over him. She had tried again to make it work that last time and it didn’t work out.”
Selena and Justin have dated on and off since 2010, but the pair hit headlines worldwide when they reignited their romance earlier this year.Â
However, their reunion was short lived as the former couple split for good in March.
The insider continued, “Selena is definitely on a different path right now and in a much better place since Justin is out of the picture. Mentally, she is done with him.
“She isn’t focused on dating as much as she’s just really focusing on herself. She’s happy right now just spending time with her girlfriends and going to church.”
A second source said, “Selena knows that Justin makes rash decisions, but wishes them both the best. She is truly focused on herself and Justin is no longer a topic of conversation in her life.”
Justin and Hailey remained friends since they dated back in 2016, but the pair fuelled relationship speculation in June when they packed on the PDA in Miami.
Since then, the couple have been practically inseparable, and it looks like they’re ready to spend the rest of their lives together.
