The father-of-two revealed that his anxiety might have started when he was a child, but he never noticed.

“I think the anxiety might have started there, trying
to find ways to control others by trying to control myself,” he told Variety.

“At the time, I never recognised that. I was just a twitchy kid.”

Ryan also revealed that his anxiety came back at points while filming his hit movie Deadpool and stayed up late with the script so he could rework the mercenary’s trademark zingers.

“I’d write 10 more jokes. I never, ever slept,” he explained.

“Or I was sleeping at a perfect right angle – just sitting straight, constantly working at the same time.

“By the time we were in post, we’d been to Comic-Con – and people went crazy for it.

“The expectations were eating me alive.”

Speaking about the mammoth success of the Marvel film, the American thanked the fans for generating traction for the film and helping it receive the green light.

“When the leaked footage got around the internet, it created this enormous groundswell.

“I credit Twitter users, Facebook users, and Instagram users for getting this movie made,” he added.

Ryan wouldn’t say who leaked the footage, with many fans assuming he leaked it, but hinted that it might have been an inside job to sway Fox executives, “I have an entertainment lawyer.
I’ll leave it at that.”
