Rumer Willis is celebrating six months of sobriety.
The daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis shared the news on Instagram, revealing that she is “really proud” of the milestone.
“I will be the first one to say I’m not perfect and I mess up sometimes and every once in a while I get it right but I wanted to share this because I am really proud of myself,” she wrote.
“Yesterday I celebrated 6 Months of Sobriety. It’s not something I planned on but after the long journey of getting here I can honestly say I have never been more proud of myself in my entire life.”
Rumer added: “Thank you all for the love and support and remember to be gentle with yourself.”
The 28-year-old actress and singer has never publicly spoken about struggling with drug or alcohol abuse.
Rumer’s younger sister Tallulah, 23, spent time in rehab in 2014 for substance abuse and an eating disorder. Their mother Demi was treated for drug and alcohol abuse at rehab in the 1980s.
Demi and Bruce were married from 1987 to 2000 and also share 25-year-old daughter Scout.
