Actress Rose McGowan has slammed Meryl Streep for her reportedly planned “silent protests” during the upcoming Golden Globes.
These reported protests are due to take place during the Golden Globes in January whereby top A-list actresses will wear black gowns as a sign of protest against harassment in the industry.
McGowan has heavily criticised Meryl on Twitter showing her frustration over the situation
“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster (Harvey Weinstein), are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest”
“YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa,”
When talking to Extra about the reported protests she said “I don’t know. I’m not talking. You gotta tune in, don’t ya?”
Streep was one of the first actresses to speak out against the Hollywood mogul when the sexual assault allegations broke.
McGowan, was one of the main subjects of a New York Times expose about Harvey Weinstein after she accused him of rape.
The actress recently revealed she was offered $1 million in “hush money” just 24 hours before the article was published.
