Paris Hilton’s younger brother sent to psychiatric hospital after hurling abuse in court

Paris Hilton’s younger brother Conrad Hilton has been sent to a psychiatric hospital after he started ranting and hurling abuse during a court appearance.

The 23-year-old appeared in court on Wednesday, and is accused of stealing a Bentley from his ex-girlfriend Hunter Daily Salomon’s father’s house and driving it to another home in the Hollywood Hills to find her.

In a video shared by TMZ, Conrad looked agitated in the dock and was seen shouting at people in the public gallery.

The Heir to the Hilton hotel empire is also accused of hurling homophobic abuse, shouting, “So f*****g gay”.

The Los Angeles native is charged with taking a car, two counts of disobeying a domestic relations restraining order and one of contempt of court.

Judge Mark Hanasono granted him bail set at $90,000, on the condition that he is sent to the Menninger Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Conrad was represented by Robert Shapiro, who famously represented OJ Simpson during his murder trial, and according to TMZ – Shapiro was the one who requested Conrad to be released from jail to go to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

Shapiro told the site that Conrad’s behaviour was “bizarre and unusual”, and Conrad’s parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, have reportedly struggled to control Conrad’s behaviour.

Conrad’s ex-girlfriend Hunter already has a restraining order against him since their 2015 split. He attempted to break into her home one month after the order was filed.

If convicted, Conrad could face up to four years in jail.

The troubled heir is no stranger to the court room, as he previously served two months in jail for using cocaine while on probation for threatening British Airways flight attendants.

Conrad will return to court on June 29.
