Nikki Bella and John Cena’s dramatic split branded ‘a publicity stunt’

Sources say the couple faked their split to drive up ratings for Nikki's reality show Total Bellas

Nikki Bella and John Cena’s split came as a major shock to their fans, as they broke up just two weeks before they were supposed to tie the knot.

However, Star magazine have sensationally claimed that their break up was simply a publicity stunt to drive up ratings for Nikki’s E! reality show Total Bellas.

The couple’s split was conveniently announced just days before the season premiere of Total Bellas, which has reportedly seen a significant spike in ratings.

A source told the publication, “A lot of people suspect the split was a publicity stunt. It was for the third season of her TV show Total Bellas.”

The insider added that faking their break up wouldn’t be a big deal for them, as the WWE performers are used to faking fights for ratings.

“It seems too big of a coincidence that John and Nikki broke up right before the season premiere,” the source continued. “There’s no doubt that in time they will get married.”

The source also added that Nikki never gave him back her diamond engagement ring, and she still has her wedding dress.

Since their split, Nikki and John have been seen together in San Diego.

In last week’s episode of Total Bellas, the couple were filmed ending their engagement due to John not wanting to have children.

“I would never force you to not be a mom,” he told her in the episode. “I don’t even wanna say this is a surprise, but I even told you so many times that this would happen. I’m not sure we should go through with this.”

Just last month, John appeared on the Today show, where he told she show’s hosts, “I still love Nicole. I still would love to marry Nicole. I still would love to have a family with Nicole.”
