Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer has been hospitalised for alcohol addiction

Verne Troyer is in hospital battling alcohol addiction.

According to TMZ, the actor has been at a San Fernando Valley hospital for almost two weeks and for the last week he has been treated for alcohol abuse.

The publication reports that Verne will be checking into a rehab facility to continue treatment by the end of this week.

“With your support, I got this,” the 48-year-old told his fans via TMZ.

Verne has struggled with alcoholism over the years and visited rehab multiple times, and in 2002 he nearly died from alcohol poisoning.

The star is best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies, and more recently he has appeared in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and The Love Guru.

Verne also appeared as the goblin Griphook in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, but the character was voiced by Warwick Davis who fully took on the role in later films.
