Miley Cyrus takes back apology for controversial Vanity Fair shoot

Miley Cyrus has retracted her apology for a controversial shoot she did for Vanity Fair ten years ago.

Aged just 15, the Disney Channel star came under fire for posing semi nude for a shoot with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The controversial image, in which Miley posed while wrapped in a satin sheet, was splashed on the front cover of The New York Post in 2008 alongside the headline “MILEY’S SHAME”.

The paper followed with the lede, “TV’s ‘Hannah’ apologises for near-nude pic.”

In her apology at the time, Miley said, “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about.”

Meanwhile, a Disney spokesperson said, “Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old girl in order to sell magazines.”

However, it appears Miley wants to let it be known that she was never sorry for the photoshoot.

Posting a picture of the New York Post cover on social media, the singer wrote, “IM NOT SORRY [sic] F**k YOU #10yearsago.”
