Miley Cyrus isn’t rushing to file for divorce from Liam Hemsworth, according to a new report.
The couple confirmed their split over the weekend, eight months after they tied the knot.
While the news came as a shock, many fans weren’t surprised by their split as their romance has been notoriously on-and-off since they met back in 2009.
Because of this, a lot of people are convinced the pair will reunite once again in the future.
A source close to Miley told PEOPLE: “They are having a break right now because they needed it. It was a bad situation with a lot of disagreements.”
“They both agreed it’s better to spend time apart, but this doesn’t mean their relationship is completely over.”
The source noted that the couple have previously “been in similar situations” and “found their way back together again.”
The insider added: “They are great together when they are happy. There is absolutely hope that they will get back together again.”
The news comes after Liam wished Miley “nothing but health and happiness” in a personal statement on Instagram.
Miley’s rep confirmed her split from Liam around the same time she was spotted kissing Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn Carter while on vacation in Italy.
It’s believed Miley, who came out as pansexual in 2015, has been “hanging out” with Kaitlynn for a while – and Brody is totally cool with it.
