Michael Bublé opens up about son Noah’s cancer battle: ‘I’ve been to hell’

The singer recently returned to the stage following his son's cancer battle

Michael Bublé has opened up about his son Noah’s cancer battle.

The four-year-old’s cancer diagnosis shocked fans back in 2016, but after 18 months of treatment – the tot has recovered well from the devastating disease, which affected his liver.

Michael and his wife Luisana Lopilato are now expecting their third child, a baby girl, and the crooner marked his return to the stage at Croke Park in Dublin last week.

Speaking about his son’s cancer battle, the 42-year-old said, “I’ve been to hell. I don’t talk about the whole story, not even to my friends because it hurts too much. It’s my boy.”

“He’s a superhero, he doesn’t need to relive it over and again. But I’ve been to hell. And you know what, hell seems like a really nice place to vacation compared to where we’ve been,” he told the Herald Sun.

The singer also admitted that he contemplated walking away from his music career, following his son’s devastating diagnosis.

He said, “I truly thought I’d never come back to music. Family is what matters. The health of my children is No.1. The relationship with my family, my wife, my faith — all of it is easily No. 1.”

“Perspective has allowed me to rekindle my love of music. When I went through Noah’s cancer from the first moment there was a snap.”

“I remember sitting in the hospital room thinking, ‘I was worried about any of that s**t? I was worried about record sales or a meme or what some a–hole said about me?’ In a second it had gotten so clear.”

Although Noah has recovered well, Michael and Luisana remain vigilant.

“It’s cancer so obviously we have to monitor it but I wouldn’t be [getting back into the spotlight] if he wasn’t okay,” he added. “I live with a perspective that I just didn’t have before and it allows me to have no fear.”
