Matthew McConaughey revealed that he was “confident” that he would land the role of Jack in Titanic.
The actor has previously opened up about auditioning for the role and now 21 years since the film came out, the 49-year-old has admitted that he thought the role was his.
“I went and auditioned for that, I wanted that. I auditioned with Kate Winslet,” the father-of-three said, while on The Hollywood Reporter’s podcast, Awards Chatter.
“Walked away from there pretty confident that I had it. I didn’t get it. I never got offered that,” the actor revealed, after he admitted that he felt it was a “good audition.”
Last year Kate Winslet opened up about her audition with Matthew, as she told Steven Colbert that it was “fantastic” but “it would have been a completely different movie” if the actor had secured the role.
