Matt Bomer to star in third season of The Sinner

Matt Bomer is set to star in the third season of The Sinner.

The actor is following in the footsteps of Jessica Biel and Carrie Coon, who starred in the first and second season.

The crime drama series has been a huge success, with two Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nomination for the first series, while the second season scored 97% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Matt expressed his excitement over the news on Instagram and wrote: “Beyond excited to work with the incredible cast and creative team on @thesinnerusa , a show I’m already a huge fan of. It’s also nice to be coming home to the place where it all began, @usa_network . Wait until you see what’s in store for season 3!”

According to Variety, the third season will follow Bill Pullman, who plays Detective Harry Ambrose, as he begins a routine investigation of a tragic car accident in Dorchester.

However, he uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into “the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career.”

Matt plays Jamie, who is an “upstanding Dorchester resident” who looks to Ambrose for support in the wake of an accident.

The 41-year-old has starred in series such as White Collar, American Horror Story, The Last Tycoon, and Doom Patrol, along with films such as Magic Mike, The Nice Guys, and Papi Chulo.
