Lucy Hale has revealed that she gave up alcohol.
The Pretty Little Liars star opened up to Byrdie about her recent journey of self-discovery, and admitted that part of it was accepting that she has “no interest” in the Hollywood party scene.
“I tried really hard to be the social butterfly,” she said. “Becoming a part of this popular show … everyone just says yes to you, so you get away with a lot, and then you make mistakes.”

As for why she no longer drinks, Lucy explained, “I’m just always trying to surround myself with better people and be the best version of myself possible. I know it sounds obnoxious to hear people say that, but why not?”
The actress – who is moving on with her life and career as Pretty Little Liars comes to an end – is close to her former co-stars, but felt like the odd one out at times.
“I tried to blend in so bad,” she admitted. “It was hard being on a show with a bunch of tall girls. I just always felt like the odd one out.”

After parting ways with her character Aria, Lucy recently cut her hair short and dyed it black, which she says has helped her to establish her own identity.
“I’m almost 28, but … I think I only just figured out who I was a year ago,” she told Byrdie. “I know it seems silly because it’s just hair.
“But at a point, I was like, ‘Why don’t I just own that I’m different?’ I guess cutting my hair was like me finally saying, ‘I don’t give a f**k.’”
