Kylie Jenner has sparked an online debate, after she shared a snap of her five-month-old daughter Stormi with pierced ears.

Last week, the 20-year-old posted a video of her snuggling Stormi – who had a pair of gold studs in her ears.

Kylie’s decision has sparked a heated online debate over whether it’s acceptable to pierce a child’s ears.

One critic tweeted, “I HATE it when I see children, with their ears pierced. Why would you want to hurt your baby/toddler?”

“Why would you want to do something to them, they may not want doing? It’s horrid. People who follow Khloe and Kylie won’t know any better, probably follow suit to get their kids’ [done].”

Another tweeted, “Christ, Stormi is less than 6 months old and Kylies already got her ears pierced. Shouldn’t be allowed at all.”

While many were quick to slam Kylie’s decision, most defended the reality star.

Many took to Twitter to question why people were getting mad at all, with one person tweeting, “Why are people slating Kylie Jenner for having Stormi’s ear pierced??? I had my ears pierced before I turned one because when you’re a baby it’s less painful and the child won’t remember the pain, like sis it’s not that deep.”

Another commented, “People are really mad Kylie pierced Stormi’s ears? I got mine pierced at 9 months and I PROMISE, I have never felt like my parents took my autonomy away from me. It’s truly not that serious.”
