Kim Kardashian took to Twitter to share her love for her Met Gala 2019 look – and revealed exactly how long it took to create the dress.
The custom look was made for her by designer Thierry Mugler, who came out of retirement specifically to make the dress for Kim, after not designing a garment for the best part of two decades.
On the social media site, Kim told her followers that it took seven months to create the look, saying: “7 months in the making and fittings in Montreal, Paris and LA.”
The new mum of four also revealed that she had corset technique lessons from noted corset maker Mr Pearl, in order to achieve the snatched waist look she showcased on the night.
“Corset breathing lessons from none other than Mr. Pearl. It was worth it all!!!”
“The day that I found out the Met Gala theme was “camp”, that same day we called @ManfredTMugler the King of Camp!”
“I learned so much about couture from this genius man, it was beyond couture, it was art!”
Kim’s dress was made of silicone, in order to achieve the perfect ruched wet look.
She continued the wet-look theme with shining, highlighted skin and damp, textured hair.
She showcased how she fit into the dress in a tell-all Vogue video.
