WATCH: Kim Kardashian reveals what she almost named her daughter Chicago

The KUWTK star also explained the reason behind her baby girl's name

Kim Kardashian has revealed that she almost named her daughter Chicago something completely different.

The reality star and her rapper husband Kanye West welcomed their third child, who they call Chi (pronounced Shy), back in January.

Kim recently appeared on The Ellen Show, and admitted that she had actually wanted to stick to one-syllable names, and considered calling her baby Jo – in a nod to her grandmother, Mary Jo — or Grace.

However, they ended up on settling on Chicago, which is where Kanye was born and raised.

Explaining the name, Kim said, “That is a place that made him and a place that he remembers his family from.”

“He really wanted his mother’s name [Donda, who died in 2007], and I love that name too. I just wasn’t sure if it’s too much to live up to. I just felt like ‘Chicago’ is cool and different.”

Speaking about welcoming her baby via surrogate, Kim admitted that Kanye was playing Connect Four in a different room when Chicago was born.

“We had a connecting room and Kanye was in there playing Connect Four with his friends and not really paying attention,” she said.
