Kim Kardashian defends Kylie Jenner’s ‘self-made’ fortune

The reality star is sticking up for her sister

Kim Kardashian has defended her sister Kylie Jenner, who has been receiving backlash ever since Forbes named her one of America’s richest self-made women.

The 20-year-old appeared on the cover of the financial magazine this month, and they predicted that she’ll be the “world’s youngest self-made billionaire” by the time she turns 21.

While Kylie received praise for her accomplishments, many took issue with Forbes using the term “self-made” due to her privileged upbringing as the youngest member of the Kardashian/Jenner family.

However, Kylie’s big sister Kim has stepped in to defend her fortune by saying, “I really didn’t get it, because she is ‘self-made’ – we are all ‘self-made’.”

Speaking to Refinery29, Kim explained, “What, because we came from a family that has had success? To me, that doesn’t really make sense…”

“Me, Kylie, not one [of the siblings] has ever depended on our parents for anything besides advice.

“We might have the opportunity, but I’ve seen it go the complete opposite way. Nobody works harder than my sisters and my mom.”

According to Forbes, Kylie’s net worth amounts to $900 million – which is largely thanks to her lucrative makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics.
