Kathy Griffin ‘no longer under investigation’ over controversial Donald Trump photo

Kathy Griffin has revealed that she’s no longer under police investigation after she was photographed holding a fake decapitated head that resembled US President Donald Trump.

The comedian caused controversy when she posted the photo back in May – which led to her losing her contract with CNN.

After an investigation was launched against her, Kathy has now revealed that the charges have been dropped.

Taking to Twitter, the 56-year-old wrote, “I am no longer under federal investigation.”

“The case is closed, I have been completely exonerated. Finally,” she tweeted.

After the backlash, Kathy publicly apologised in a video, and asked photographer Tyler Shields to remove the pictures.

“I sincerely apologise. I am just now seeing the reaction of [sic] these images,” she said in the video.

“The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people… I get it. I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake, and I was wrong.”
