Justin Bieber has shared an emotional statement – admitting to abusing drugs and being disrespectful to women.
The, now married, star took to Instagram to tell his fans about the struggles he has been through.
Opening up about the effect fame had on his life, Justin said: “Have you noticed the statistics of child stars and the outcome of their life?
“There’s an insane pressure and responsiblity put on a child whose brain, emotions, frontal lobes (decision making) aren’t developed yet.”
Justin admitted that once he became an overnight sensation, people constantly did things for him meaning he “never learned any fundamentals of responsibility. So by this point I was 18 with no skills in the real world, with millions of dollars and access to whatever I wanted.
“By 20 I made every bad decision you could have thought of,” he continued. “and went from one of the most loved and adored people in the world to the most ridiculed, judged and hated person in the world!”
Justin then admitted to drug use and said he treated women in his life badly, clearly a subtle nod to his relationship with Selena Gomez.
“I started doing pretty heavy drugs at 19 and abused all of my relationships. I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry.
“I became distant to everyone who love me, and i was hiding behind, a shell of a person that i had become,” he added.
“It’s taken me years to bounce back from all of these terrible decisions, fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits.”
The Canadian singer then gave a mention to his wife Hailey Bieber, revealing that his new chapter with her has changed his as a person.
“Now I am navigating the best season of my life “MARRIAGE”!! Which is an amazing crazy new responsibility?
“You learn patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility and all of the things it looks like to be a good man,” he added.
