Jada Pinkett Smith broke down in tears as she spoke about dating her husband Will Smith while he was still married to his first wife Sheree Zampino Fletcher.
The actress sat down for a refreshingly honest chat with Sheree during Monday’s premiere of her new Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk.
The 46-year-old first started dating Will in 1995 –Â before his divorce from Sheree was finalised.
Looking back on that time, Jada admitted, “Because I did not understand marriage. I didn’t understand divorce. I will say that I probably should’ve fell back.”
Will’s first wife replied, “You think?”
Jada went on to explain how it took time for her to realise how she was behaving “insensitively”, as she was just “trying to get in there.”
In a touching moment, the pair laughed as they recalled the time they exchanged “fighting words” over the phone.
Sheree laughed, “I called back and happened to say, ‘B***h, you living in the house I picked out!’ And you said, ‘It’s my house now.'”
After their catfight, Jada admitted that Will, who had son Trey with Sheree, scolded her for it.
“His take was, ‘That is Trey’s mother and that’s just not your place,'” the Girls Trip star recalled.
Jada and Will have been married for 20 years, and are parents to son Jaden, 19, and daughter Willow, 17.
