Iggy Azalea has defended her decision to continue her performance, after a backing dancer had a seizure on-stage.
The rapper was performing in Brazil last night, when one of her dancers suffered a seizure and collapsed mid-performance.
While fans were shocked that the 28-year-old continued her set and many criticised the rapper online, Iggy has since released a statement defending her decision to continue the concert.
“Just want to let everyone asking know my dancer is OKAY! The light & heat caused her to have a seizure. She is backstage feeling much better,” she wrote on Instagram.
Iggy went on to say that she thought the dancer had “just fallen/twisted her ankle” and that she needed to “keep singing until the music” stopped, and asked for a medic.
“We are all really shaken up by what happened & just thankful she is okay,” she added, and told fans that she “hoped” they wouldn’t repost any memes of the incident online.
“It feels like ANY thing I do becomes an opportunity for people to tell me why I’m s**t, why my music sucks, my clothes are ugly, why I don’t matter.”
Iggy went on to say that she feels like she “can do nothing right” and urged people to be kinder to each other.
