This HUGE star will be hosting the 2017 Tony Awards

The Tony Awards has announced its host for the 2017 ceremony.

Kevin Spacey will be serving as the emcee for theatre’s biggest night of the year.

The actor is best known for his TV and film work but won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 1991 for Lost in Yonkers.

Kevin was also nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Play in 1999 for The Iceman Cometh.

“I was their 2nd choice for Usual Suspects, 4th choice for American Beauty and 15th choice to host this year’s Tony Awards,” he joked.

“I think my career is definitely going in the right direction. Maybe I can get shortlisted to host the Oscars if everyone else turns it down.”

Kevin has also starred in Broadway and West End productions of Long Day’s Journey into Night and Richard III.

The 57-year-old has been portraying Frank Underwood in Netflix’s House of Cards since 2013, and his next movie Billionaire Boys Club is due for release later this year.

The 71st Annual Tony Awards will take place at Radio City Music Hall on June 11th and nominations will be announced by Jane Krakowski and Christopher Jackson on May 2nd.
