Garth Brooks has finally admitted to lip syncing during his performance at the CMA (Country Music Association) Awards.

The country singer took home the top award for Entertainer of the Year on Wednesday night, and it’s the second year he has won the award.

Garth got a lot of criticism when he performed his track ‘Ask Me How I Know’, and fans of the singer slammed him for not performing the song live.

A few of his fans took to Twitter to share their disgust, writing, “Garth Brooks is REALLY bad at lip syncing”, while a second posted, “Worst lip syncing I’ve ever seen.”

When the winner spoke to Fox News after the performance he said, “Right now we’re in the middle of 12 shows in 10 days.”

“We’ve got four days and we’re doing two shows a day. We decided to lip sync it because my voice just isn’t going anywhere, and we wanted to represent country music the best we can.”

The country star acknowledged the rest of his country music “family” during his acceptance speech.
