Fugitive businessman Jho Low allegedly ‘used 1MDB money’ to gift Kim Kardashian a $325k Ferrari

The car was allegedly bought with money "stolen from the people of Malaysia"

Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband Kris Humphries were reportedly gifted a $325k white Ferrari by fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the reality star and her ex-hubby received the sports car as a wedding gift back in 2011.

However, the site has reported that Kim may be forced to hand the car over, as it was allegedly bought using 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) funds – aka “money stolen from the people of Malaysia.”

Kim and Kris separated just 72 days after tying the knot, and it’s believed the couple fought over the white Ferrari during divorce proceedings.

At that time, a source told RadarOnline: “Kris was at Kim’s house when the very gift was delivered — it was given to both of them but Kim has kept sole ownership of the gift and has used it extensively.”

Kim was spotted in a white Ferrari in Miami last month, however, her publicist and divorce lawyer wouldn’t say whether she’s still driving the car.

Page Six also reported that the US Department of Justice (DOJ) have gone after other celebrities who received gifts from Jho Low.

Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly handed over Picasso and Basquiat paintings, while Miranda Kerr parted with $8 million in diamond jewellery.

The report also named other celebrities, such as Swizz Beatz, Pras Michél and Nicole Scherzinger, who received “less valuable gifts.”

Jho Low is the subject of the new book ‘Billion Dollar Whale’, written by Tom Wright and Bradley Hope.

The book has been described as “an epic true-tale of hubris and greed… that reveals how this young social climber (Low) pulled off one of the biggest heists in history — right under the nose of the global financial industry.”

The DOJ wouldn’t say whether it will try to recover the gifts Jho Low gave to his famous friends.
