Drake opens up about fatherhood in candid interview with LeBron James

The rapper welcomed a son last year

Drake has finally opened up about fatherhood, in a candid interview with LeBron James.

Back in June, the rapper confirmed that he fathered a son named Adonis with former adult-film star Sophie Brussaux on his new album Scorpion, following months of speculation.

On Friday’s episode of LeBron James’ new HBO series The Shop, the 31-year-old gushed about his son.

Showing a photo of Adonis, Drake said, “[He has] crazy blue eyes — baby blue eyes, before adding, “He’s already in the pool shooting the basketball.”

Drake and his son’s mother were not together when she gave birth to Adonis on October 11, 2017.

Drake explained, “I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who… we’ve had our moments.”

“I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother.

“We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible. Now, I’m just really excited to be a great father.”

“No matter what happens, I have unconditional love for the mother of my child because I want him to love his mother and I have to project that energy,” Drake added.

The rapper also said that he found it hard to tell his mother that he had gotten Sophie pregnant, because they had never met before.

He said, “I think I was more scared to tell my mom because my mom has had real relationships with women in my life over the course of my years that I’m sure she would expect or be elated if I were to have gotten one of those women pregnant. It was tough for me to tell her that it was somebody that she never met.”
