Michelle Williams has checked herself into a mental health facility.
TMZ have reported that the 37-year-old “is getting treated in a facility just outside of Los Angeles.”
In a statement on Instagram, the Destiny’s Child star told her fans, “For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing.”
“I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals,” she continued.
“Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need.”
“If you change your mind, you can change your life,” she added.
Back in October 2017, Michelle opened up about her battle with depression on The Talk.
She confessed, “I’ve been suffering [from depression] since between the age of 13 and 15… at that age I didn’t know what to call it.”
