Demi Lovato admits she will ‘never take another day for granted’ following near-fatal overdose

The singer suffered a drug overdose back in July

Demi Lovato has admitted that she “will never take another day for granted”, following her near-fatal drug overdose.

The songstress was rushed to hospital back in July, when she suffered a drug overdose at her home in Los Angeles.

After recovering in hospital, Demi completed a stint in rehab, and has been sober ever since.

Taking to Instagram to reflect on the past year, Demi wrote: “So grateful for the lessons I’ve learned this year.”

“I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones. Thankful for my fans, friends, family and everyone who supported me throughout this year. God bless.”

Demi’s message comes after she slammed tabloids for writing stories about her.

She wrote: “I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening.

“If I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them MYSELF. Otherwise people stop writing about my recovery, because it’s no one’s business but mine. I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME.”
