Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan say it’s time for a woman to play 007

Iconic actor James Bond has revealed that he would like to see a women play the role of 007.

His comments come following the announcement that Daniel Craig will return to portray the character in upcoming film No Time To Die.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Brosnan said:”I think we’ve watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there!”

“I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting.”

Brosnan played the character for four films – GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

However, he admitted that he did not see it happening anytime soon.

Daniel Craig also admitted that he thought women should be able to perform the role.

“I think that ­everybody should be ­considered” he said.

“Also for women and for African-Americans, there should be great parts anyway, across the board.”

The upcoming flick has a star-studded cast, including Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Léa Seydoux and Christoph Waltz.
