Christina Aguilera has revealed the real reason why she left The Voice.

The singer was one of the first judges to join The Voice in 2011, but she quietly departed the show in 2016 – and now she’s finally explained why she felt the need to leave.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Christina said, “I felt disconnected for a while and I wasn’t in the right head space either being in an environment that was just not good for me.”

The 37-year-old also slammed the show’s “work environment” and admitted that she saw things that she “didn’t think were okay”.

“I saw blatant things that I didn’t think were okay and that I’m sure no one would want to put up with in a work environment. It was important for me to step away.”

While Christina made the decision to step away from her role on the show, she recently announced that she’s going on her first tour in over a decade.

“The idea of the tour has actually scared me,” she admitted, but added, “With this more intimate tour, it’s kind of lessening the pressure. I’m dipping my toe back in the water and also giving my fans a real chance to see me after they haven’t in so long.”
