Camila Cabello has opened up about her exit from Fifth Harmony and the advice Taylor Swift gave her.

The singer spoke to ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine, for their June 2018 issue about her messy split from Fifth Harmony.

She famously left the girl group in 2016, with the remaining girls in the Band releasing a statement announcing her departure. The band’s statement insinuated that she didn’t tell them about her departure, but that “her representatives [told them] that Camila has decided to leave the band.” This created a spat between the women, with Camila refuting their claims and saying that she did inform the girls of her departure.

The singer cited her reason for leaving the band as feeling “too young” to remain a part of it.

The ‘Havana’ singer told the magazine how the split was “as painful as a breakup” but that she took advice from friend Taylor Swift who told her to “just write it out”.

It’s clear the 21-year-old took her advice, saying how there were “songs that didn’t make my album that were just me getting it out.”

Taylor and Camila met through mutual friend Hailee Steinfiled and bonded over their recent breakups, with Taylor sending her a breakup playlist and telling her, “Come over, lets talk about it”.

Camila is currently supporting Taylor Swift on her ‘Reputation Tour’, which comes to Croke Park on the 15th and 16th of June.
