Brie Larson brought her stunt doubles onstage, after she won the award for Best Fight at the MTV Movie & TV Awards last night.

The Captain Marvel star honoured Renae Moneymaker and Joanna Bennett, as she accepted the gong in the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Brie said: “This is so cool. First and foremost thank you MTV and thank you to the fans. Thank you so much for voting for this film we’re so proud of.”

She continued, “But I wanted to take this moment to really say thank you to the two women that are standing here beside me. These are the women who trained me and were also the stunt doubles for Captain Marvel.”

“I could not have made this film without them. They are really the baseline for who she is. They are the living embodiment of Captain Marvel,” she said.

After the awards ceremony, Brie posted a photo of the trio on Instagram, and wrote: “If you love Captain Marvel you love @joannabennett_ and @nae_z_may – these are the women who were my stunt doubles and trained me for 2 hours every day for 3 months.”

“These women risk their lives while doing mind blowing things to bring magic to the screen. And they do it with grace and grit and humor.”

If you love Captain Marvel you love @joannabennett_ and @nae_z_may – these are the women who were my stunt doubles and trained me for 2 hours every day for 3 months. These women risk their lives while doing mind blowing things to bring magic to the screen. And they do it with grace and grit and humor. To be so generously brought into their world, to be encouraged by them, to be in the thick of literal blood, sweat and tears with them is a gift I won’t forget. At the MTV Movie Awards I had the chance to bring them on stage after we won Best Fight. I love you Nae and Jo! I’m a better person because of the time I spent with you. Thank you again to everyone who voted. We feel real lucky! ❤️🤘
