Bradley Cooper reveals he was ’embarrassed’ about Oscars Best Director snub

Bradley Cooper has revealed that he was “embarrassed” about being snubbed by the Oscars for a Best Director nomination.

The 44-year-old directed the hugely popular remake of A Star Is Born in 2018 and while the film has been nominated for seven Oscars, Best Director is not one of them.

Bradley admitted that he felt “embarrassed” after being snubbed from the nominations list, as he told Oprah: “I was embarrassed. I was at a coffee shop in New York City and looked down at my phone and Nicole [Caruso, his publicist] has told me congratulations and said what we had been nominated for.”

“They didn’t even give me the bad news,” he added.

“I was embarrassed because I felt I hadn’t done my job.”

Bradley’s confession comes after The Academy confirmed that he will perform hit song, ‘Shallow’ at the Oscars with Lady Gaga.
