Bob Weinstein has been accused of sexually harassing a TV producer, just days after his brother Harvey was fired from The Weinstein Company after a number of women accused him of sexual assault, harassment, and misconduct.
Amanda Segel, who worked on The Mist, has claimed that the harassment began in the summer of 2016, when Bob asked her out for dinner.
In an interview with Variety, Amanda revealed that he asked colleagues whether she was single and inquired about her age during a dinner – and told her that he didn’t want to date anyone younger than his daughter.
The producer went on to allege that he continued to repeatedly ask her out to dinner, and joked at times that he was her boss and could fire her if she didn’t agree.
Amanda told how the harassment continued for about three months, until her lawyer told The Weinstein Company executives that she would leave the show if he did not stop.
“‘No’ should be enough. After ‘no,’ anybody who has asked you out should just move on,” she said.
“Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that ‘no’ is enough from now on.”
Meanwhile, Bob has denied Amanda’s claims that he behaved inappropriate.
“Bob Weinstein had dinner with Ms Segel in LA in June 2016,” his lawyers told Variety. “He denies any claims that he behaved inappropriately at or after the dinner. It is most unfortunate that any such claim has been made.”
The news comes after Bob’s disgraced older brother Harvey resigned from the board of The Weinstein Company on Tuesday, after being fired from the company on October 8.
The 65-year-old, who is currently at a rehab facility in Arizona, co-founded the company back in 2005.
Just last week, Bob Weinstein described his brother as a “sick and depraved” bully, and said that Harvey showed no remorse for his actions.
