Blake Lively may be one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood, but she is self-conscious just like everyone else.
The actress admitted in a new interview for Variety‘s Power of Women NY issue that she felt depressed after searching her name on the internet.
“I have [Googled myself] before and it’s just ended in full depression,” she said. “So I think it’s a good rule of thumb not to Google yourself because the internet is not nice.”
Blake, who graces the cover of the special edition of the magazine, also discussed the even darker side of the web – and her work with the Child Rescue Coalition to find and stop child predators.
“There are millions of files all over the world being traded every single day of child pornography,” she said. “It’s so disturbing. A lot of these people are fathers.”
The 29-year-old shared a picture of her cover shot on Instagram, writing, “Thank you @variety for honoring the power of women and also for helping me support @childrescuecoalition Check them out.
“They’re working to protect children AND BABIES from horrific sexual assault and exploitation. Everyone working there is the real hero. I’m grateful to share their work. Let’s protect our little ones, all over the world!”

Blake, who shares two young daughters with husband Ryan Reynolds, additionally revealed to Variety that her mother taught her she can juggle a career and children.
“My mom was really great because my mom had a career and had five kids,” she said. “Don’t compromise one for the other and you can do both fantastically, and some days you’ll do both horribly.
“As long as you’re happy and give your family all the love and attention they need, it all sort of falls into place.”
Blake can next be seen as a blind woman who regains her sight in thriller All I See Is You, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and will be released in September.
