Ariana Grande reveals her engagement to Pete Davidson was ‘unrealistic’

Ariana Grande has spoken out about her since broken-off engagement to comedian Pete Davidson.

The singer told Vogue magazine that her engagement to the Saturday Night Live star was a “distraction” from her real life, and that the potential for them to last long term was “highly unrealistic.”

“My friends were like, ‘Come! We’re gonna have a fun summer,’ and then I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction,” she said.

However, she admits that while she loved him, she did not know him fully.

“It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him.”

“I’m like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still don’t trust myself with the life stuff.”

The couple split following the death of Ariana’s ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. The rapper had struggled with addiction issues, and passed away of a suspected overdose.

Touching on their relationship, she said: “By no means was what we had perfect, but, like, f**k. He was the best person ever, and he didn’t deserve the demons he had.”

“I was the glue for such a long time, and I found myself becoming… less and less sticky. The pieces just started to float away.”
