Ariana Grande performs ‘Thank u, next’ for the first time with a First Wives Club twist

The singer performs her new song for the first time

Ariana Grande has performed her new song, ‘Thank u,next’, with a First Wives Club pun.

Ariana sang her new hit on The Ellen DeGeneres Show with a wedding theme as her and two dancers dressed in all white and the stage was set like a wedding reception.

The 25-year-old shared a pic with the dancers on Instagram and captioned it: “first wives club 2018.”

First Wives Club is a 1996 film based on three women who seek revenge on their ex-husbands after they leave them for younger women.

The reference to the film fits perfectly as ‘Thank u, next’ is a tribute to Ariana’s previous loves, as it focuses on how her past made her the woman she is today.

During the performance, the singer stood up on a chair, but as she stepped down, she suddenly stumbled and said: “Oh my god”.

This stumble did not bother the 25-year-old though, as she continued her performance without a hitch.
