Anna Wintour has revealed that Donald Trump will never be invited back to the Met Gala.

The Met Gala ball is the highlight of New York’s social calendar, and has become one of the biggest celebrity events over the years.

Donald Trump has been a frequent guest at the Met Gala since the 1980s, and even proposed to his wife Melania at the party in 2004 – however, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has revealed that the US President has lost his Met privilege.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Anna, who co-chairs the fundraising event, admitted that she wouldn’t be inviting Donald again.

In a segment called ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’, Anna was asked to either tell the audience who she would never invite back to the Met Gala, or take a forfeit of eating pickled pig’s feet.

“Donald Trump,” she replied.

Anna took over organising the Met Gala in 1999, however, back then it was just a local fundraiser, held to support the museum’s Costume Institute.

But, thanks to Anna’s influence, the Met Gala Ball is now seen as the ‘Oscars of the East Coast’.

Every year, the guest list is hand picked by Anna and her organisers, and only a handful of invitations are sent to major figures in the fashion world, or to people with the right kind of celebrity status.

In 2016, tickets were priced at $30,000, and each sale must still be approved by Anna herself, in an effort to maintain the event’s exclusivity.
