Angelina Jolie hasn’t ruled out running for office.
The actress was appointed Special Envoy in the UN in 2012 and has been working with the organisation to help refugees flee war-torn countries and fight for the rights of women around the world.
Speaking to People about her future political plans, the mother-of-six wouldn’t rule out running for office someday in the future.
“Never say never. [But] right now I am looking to others for leadership,” she said.
The 43-year-old also spoke about the need for change in laws which allow women to be treated as “second class citizens”.
“If you look across the world, there are far too many women and girls who are not only not seeing progress, their rights are slipping away from them.”
“So one of the things we are putting forward now is a proposal for a permanent international body to investigate war crimes, including mass rape and other sexual and gender-based violence.”
Angelina added that she’s grateful to have the chance to meet incredible people “who spend their lives dedicated to others” through her work with the UN.
