Angelina Jolie agrees to seal divorce and custody documents

The couple are nearing the end of their bitter divorce battle

Angelina Jolie has reportedly agreed to seal the documents relating to her divorce and custody case with Brad Pitt.

It was announced in September 2016 that the couple were to split after twelve years together and two years married.

A judge signed off on the unsealed documents in December 2016 but rumours suggest that Brad filed an emergency motion to seal all documents related to their case, claiming the disclosure of details could cause their children harm.

According to TMZ.com, Angelina filed legal documents agreeing with her former husband to protect their six childrens’ privacy – but said it was wrong of him to accuse her of airing their dirty laundry in public.

Brad is “terrified that the public will learn the truth,” the legal documents supposedly say.

The 12 Years A Slave star apparently was not happy with the actress when she filed unsealed documents trying to prevent him from altering their custody battle – but the new documents allege she said all he’s doing is trying to “deflect from [his] own role in the media storm which has engulfed the parties’ children.”

“There is little doubt that [Brad] would prefer to keep the entire case private, particularly given the detailed investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Dept. of Children and Family Services into allegation of abuse.”

The news comes after the actor apparently called ex-wife Jennifer Aniston to patch things up.
