Angelina Jolie has accused Brad Pitt of not paying child support, as their divorce battle continues to take a nasty turn.
In a court filing this week, the actress has alleged that her ex hasn’t paid any “meaningful” child support since their divorce proceedings began in 2016.
In a two-page brief, which was filed in L.A. Superior Court, her attorney wrote, “Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children’s expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file an RFO for the establishment of a retroactive child support order.”
Angelina’s spokeswoman, Mindy Nyby, has since told E! News, “The aim of Angelina’s routine court filing is to promote closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path toward the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted co-parents to their children.”
The 43-year-old filed for divorce from Brad in 2016, but according to recent reports, the pair are nowhere near settling.
A source has told E! News, “Brad and Angelina are not even close to settling their divorce. They are so hung up on dealing with the custody issues that they haven’t even exchanged any financial documents yet, which is routine in divorces and one of the first steps people take in the filing process.”
Angelina is currently shooting the sequel to Maleficent in London, while Brad, 54, is filming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in Los Angeles.
Despite their nasty court battle, Brad has been allowed spend time with their kids in the UK, after a judge ruled that “not having a relationship with their father is harmful.”
Brad and Angelina are parents to six children; Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, Vivienne, 10 and Knox, 10.
