A$AP Rocky avoids further jail time in Swedish assault case

The rapper was found guilty of assault earlier this month

A$AP Rocky has avoided any further jail time, after he was found guilty of assault earlier this month.

The rapper was given a suspended sentence on August 14, after spending a month being held at a jail in Stockholm.

After he was sentenced, Swedish prosecutor Daniel Suneson planned to appeal the court’s decision as he didn’t think his sentencing was harsh enough.

But as of Tuesday morning, Mr. Suneson said he no longer plans on fighting the sentence.

In a statement, the prosecutor said: “I have accepted the District Court’s evaluation of the evidence, inasmuch as the use of whole or broken bottles during the assault has not been proven.”

“All three defendants have in fact been brought to justice for assault and the District Court has dismissed the plea of self-defense, something that I believe was important to clarify in this particular case.”

Rocky was accused of assaulting 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari in Sweden on July 30, and the rapper was ordered to pay the victim about $1,300 in damages.
