The CW Television Network president, Mark Pedowitz, has confirmed that Gossip Girl could be getting a reboot.
The hit show aired from 2007 to 2012 and starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Penn Badgley.
The drama followed the lives of privileged upper-class teenagers living in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, who were harassed by Gossip Girl who text all of their secrets and scandals to their peers.
According to Deadline, Mark said: “There’s been discussions. But I don’t know if we’re there yet.”
He continued to admit: “I don’t know what it would be,” and how the involvement of the original executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage would determine if the reboot was possible – he said: “Cause you don’t want to do anything without them.”
At the ATX TV Festival in 2016, the EPs told E! News that they never thought about a reboot or considered how it would be done with the advances in social media.
Gossip Girl ran for an impressive six seasons across 121 episodes and is still a huge hit with new viewers watching the series on Netflix.
